Up North

Have you been to the lonely places up north

Where the moon rises white as bone

And the stars shine crisp as gems

In the velvet void of sky?

Silence has sharpened the crags

And hardened the winter woods.

Up there, the road is long

And the air feels hollow in your chest

Up north

Where space meets the horizon

Something lies preserved

Unchanged for years

And years to come
